Lee, being an awesome husband, oredered a book that I was really looking forward to before it was even released. So Amazon, being a piece of shit, didn’t ship my book until the day after it came out, then it’s been sitting in Greensboro for 2 days doing nothing. Greensboro is only a few hours away from here and yet, it’s just sitting there. So, my husband trying to be sweet and great tried to order it in a way that would have gotten it to me quicker. But alas, since Amazon blows, I will get my copy a week after I could have picked it up on the shelf in Barnes and Noble and around the time I would have finished reading it.

My boss just came out of her office and said “anyone want to see the Guiness world record holder for largest sapphire?”

We all looked around confused. Then she informed us that our camp is now the proud owner of the largest sapphire in the world! Pretty cool! Someone donated it to us! We get the weirdest donations, but this one takes the cake. The strangest stipulation in the whole thing is that we have a year to sell it and if we don’t, they’ll take it back. The one that was beat out by ours sold in switzerland for over 3 million US Dollars. Rad!! But they say that this one still has to be appraised and everything.

So I’m going to visit it tomorrow. I’ll take a picture for y’all if I can.

Apparently, the people who own most of the property in the village just doubled the rent, allowing only corporations and large businesses to compete. Another reason to hate this fucking city.

I just told my lovely co-workers the hilarious story of my drug test for this job. I wasn’t expecting it, and my boss just handed me the paperwork and said,”you have to go do this right now”. I was freaking out. I called my friend who worked here before me and yelled at him for not telling me.

The problem was, I had just returned from my honeymoon in Belize, where I smoked some pot with a dude at a party at the hostel on caye caulker. He was from the island and rolled a joint with a leaf, i thought it was awesome and he asked Lee if it was cool if he shared it with me. Little did I know the panic it would cause.

So now that they’ve both heard this story and admitted that they are not “drug users” I feel like a loser, or a really cool rebel….

This old dude just called me (the registrar) at work to ask me to make him a reservation at the Fairfield Inn nearby. Allow me to add that the place where I work has two hotel-like housing facilities. But he wants me to call another hotel and make him a reservation. He’s not coming for a program here at camp, he’s just coming to town and doesn’t want to make his own damn reservations at another hotel. He wants to give them his money, but have me do the work. NO! So I told him no, and he got mad at me and said “after all of the money that I donate there, you won’t help me?” I told him that it’s not my job to make reservations at other hotels and he said “I don’t know what your job description is, just get me to someone who can help me.”

This is the point where I wanted to tell him that the fairfield inn might be able to help him make a reservation at the fairfield inn, but instead I transferred him over to the assistant to our executive director so she could help him. I guess, of all of us, that most falls into her job description.

I hate when people decide to hold the fact that they donate money to us over our heads. Did you really give money to a non-profit youth and family ministry program so that we could be your bitch? If so, then you are shallower than a puddle. People do this a lot to get discounts, rooms that realistically aren’t available, free meals, and apparently hotel reservations at other hotels. Ugh, just donate to help people, not yourself.

Could someone explain to me the similarities between Sarah and her daughter? One is a grown, responsible woman who I’m guessing got pregnant by choice with her husband and “bravely”(???) kept her “down syndrome baby”. The other is a stupid 17 year old irresponsible kid who got pregnant by her also stupid boyfriend not by choice and is “bravely” (???) keeping her teen-pregnancy baby?

For Sarah it seems like the obvious choice to keep a child that she can easily care for. For Bristol it seems like an obvious choice to have taken the morning after pill and continued to be a 17 year-old dumbass. So one would be a jackass to abort the child and one would be a jackass to have even been having unprotected sex to begin with.

Other than they both got knocked up and both had/will have babies. That’s where the similarities end.

This means that they are paying officers almost $10,000 for a week of abusing people and spending 16 million on training them to beat people and buying weapons to harm people with.

I’d like to thank the Biltmore house, which has it’s entrance right across the street from our house, for the awesome benefits of the 12 month pass. I e-mailed them tonight to ask if we could use our pass to go to the evening wine/ finger foods/ sunset this weekend at the estate during the “flower carpet” event. They said I could get tickets for the great price of $60!! Instead of the regular price of $65…..oooooohhh! Thanks!

I also found out recently that I could get the steal of a deal for Village People tickets at the Biltmore estate for $100 a piece. Thanks Biltmore. It’s nice to see you guys reward the local people who keep coming back to bring you business a lot of weekends. I feel the love.
